Introducing the 2026 Swim Captain - Max

We are proud to announce Max Malone as our 2026 Swim Captain.

A graduate of Greythorn Primary School and a valued member of the Marlhes House community under the leadership of Pastoral Leader Mr John Di Natale, Max has been a committed and consistent contributor to the Marcellin swimming program since Year 7.

Max began his Marcellin sporting journey playing football and joining the swim team in Year 7. By the end of Year 11, he made the mature and courageous decision to focus his full attention on swimming, with the goal of elevating both his own performance and the strength of the College program. His dedication has seen him become a multiple Age Champion and a proud representative of the College each year at the prestigious AGSV Swim Night.

Balancing elite training with academic commitments is no small task. Training eight times per week while completing his final year studies in English, General Mathematics, Media, Accounting and Health & Human Development requires discipline and organisation. Max credits careful planning, goal setting and consistency as the keys to managing both his sport and schoolwork effectively.

Outside of school competition, Max competes at a National level with Caulfield Aquatics, further demonstrating his commitment to excellence in the pool.

As Captain, Max is most looking forward to serving as a role model for younger swimmers in the program. He is passionate about helping them achieve their personal goals while contributing to the collective success of the team. His vision for 2026 is firmly set on the final AGSV Swim Night - ensuring the team represents the College with pride, confidence and strong participation across all events. With depth, unity and belief, Max is confident the team can achieve a very successful season.

His advice to junior students is simple yet powerful: “Stay consistent with what you do and what you love. By staying consistent, you can achieve anything.”

Max embodies the values of commitment, leadership and pride in representing the College. We look forward to watching him lead the swim program with integrity and determination throughout 2026.
