Introducing the 2027 Sport Captain

Fabian Cimoli Named 2027 Marcellin College Sport Captain

‍Marcellin College is proud to announce Fabian Cimoli as the Sport Captain for 2027. A member of Faulkner House, Fabian has earned this prestigious leadership position through his outstanding commitment to sport, strong character and dedication to the Marcellin community.

Having joined Marcellin from Brunswick East Primary School, Fabian has embraced every opportunity to contribute to College life and has become a respected leader among his peers. His appointment reflects his passion for sport, commitment to personal excellence and ability to inspire those around him.

A talented cricketer, Fabian has represented Marcellin in the 1st XI since making his debut in Round 1 of Year 11. Throughout his sporting journey, he has demonstrated resilience, patience and a willingness to learn, qualities that have seen him develop into both a successful athlete and an exemplary role model.

One of the highlights of Fabian's time at Marcellin was being part of the 1st XI premiership-winning team in 2026. While the Grand Final victory itself was a memorable achievement, Fabian reflects most fondly on the experiences shared with teammates throughout the season. The England Cricket Tour and Marist Cricket Carnival provided opportunities to build lifelong friendships and strengthen connections within the team, making the success even more rewarding.

For Fabian, the role of Sport Captain is about far more than athletic achievement. He sees it as an opportunity to represent the College with pride and to help create an environment where every student feels encouraged to get involved.

He hopes to lead the sporting community with passion, commitment and a pursuit of excellence, while remaining approachable to students and staff alike. Fabian believes strong leaders listen to their community, value feedback and continually look for ways to improve.

Beyond school sport, Fabian plays cricket with the Marcellin Old Collegians Cricket Club, where he has represented both the 1st and 2nd XI teams in the Eastern Cricket Association Turf Shield competition. His connection to the club is particularly meaningful, with both his father and uncle also involved as players.

In the classroom, Fabian exemplifies the balance between academic and sporting excellence. Currently studying Unit 3&4 in Health and Human Development and Religion and Society and Unit 1&2 Mathematical Methods, English Language, Chemistry and Biology, he carefully manages his commitments through strong organisation and disciplined time management.

As he prepares to take on the role in 2027, Fabian is excited by the opportunity to build on the strong sporting culture that already exists at Marcellin. He is passionate about increasing participation, strengthening connections between students and teams, and creating even more opportunities for boys to enjoy and benefit from sport.

Marcellin College congratulates Fabian on his appointment as 2027 Sport Captain and looks forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on the College's community throughout the year ahead.
