There are a variety of leadership opportunities for students in the Junior and Senior schools at Marcellin College, either at College, House, Ministry, Academic or Sport level. We believe such roles enable students to gain valuable leadership experience, grow in confidence and become responsible citizens and positive role models for others within our College and wider community.
Student Representative Council
The SRC concerns itself with a variety of matters related to College life including service, social justice, curriculum matters, student wellbeing issues, College facilities and the organisation of a variety of social co-curricular activities.
Junior School Executive
The Junior School Captain, Junior School Vice Captains, Social Justice Captain and the ten Year 9 SRC (one from each House) form the Junior School SRC Executive. The Junior School Executive meets with the Assistant Principal (Students 7-9) once a month and when required liaise with the Senior SRC Executive and College Captains.
The College Captain, Vice Captains and House Captains form the Senior SRC Executive. The Senior SRC Executive meets with the Assistant Principal (Students 10-12) on a fortnightly basis. Each year, in Term 3 the prospective years College Captain, Vice Captains and House Captains are determined by members of the Student Leadership committee.
Opportunities for formal student leadership are also available in the areas of Liturgy, Chess, Debating, Science, Languages, Visual Arts, Performing Arts (Drama & Music), Publications and Sport.
