Dear Members of the Marcellin College Community,

As we come to the pointy end of the term, it’s important our students continue to remain focused on their learning, maintain good standards around uniform and attendance, and ensure they continue to engage with all aspects of College life.

Last Friday, we came together for National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence and participated in a number of activities. One included the signing of House banners as a pledge and commitment to our zero-tolerance policy when it comes to bullying. It’s important we continue to embrace our 2022 College theme – Connect, Respect and Growth, by ensuring these days aren’t just dates in the calendar but engender conversation. I encourage you all to chat with your son about the many activities we have employed around these important topics and how we can continue to work together to create a positive environment for all.

On Wednesday, 23 March we hosted our first Marcellin College Business Network breakfast meeting for the year. The guest speaker was Xavier Csar who spoke on leadership and the importance of surrounding yourself with good people to realise your vision. As we navigate a new era for the College, I am extremely grateful to the many talented and committed leaders and staff at Marcellin. The Marcellin Business Network is all about connections – for our graduates, as well as current families who wish to embrace the strong connections made during their time at the College and post-Marcellin.

On Sunday, we will hold our Open Day. It is an important day for the College as we welcome prospective families to visit our facilities, speak with our students and meet our teachers. It looks like we’ll be blessed with great weather on the day!

I am reminded during Lent that it’s important we learn to slow down, even as we hurl towards the start of a busy first term. Slowing down, doesn’t mean stopping or dropping the ball on what’s before us, but to develop a sense of trust.

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 10:31

Wishing everyone a wonderful remainder of the term.

God bless.
