Dear Parents and Students,

I bid you a warm welcome to the many opportunities which you will encounter as you join the Marcellin community. The transition into secondary school is a special time for young men and their families. It is a time of great excitement tinged with a certain degree of nervousness. Let me assure you that we are well aware of the importance of this time and that we will act to make the transition a positive experience for our new families.

There is a very simple formula for success at Marcellin, one which if adopted from the very outset will ensure a positive and successful school experience. The secret of success is to embrace all of the opportunities which are presented with enthusiasm, determination, dedication and courage. As the boys approach their classes, cultural, sporting and social opportunities, they should do so in a spirit of adventure and with a determination to strive for the highest.

We expect from our students a commitment to personal excellence. Our College motto is "Virtute Ad Altissima" - through virtue and courage to strive for the highest". The importance here is the will and courage to grow; despite the risk of failure. The learning process is as important as the end product.

All of us here at Marcellin look forward to joining with you in this most important of pursuits, the formation and education of young people.
