Junior (Years 7 To 9)
The Year 7 and 8 academic program, underpinned by extensive research, actively supports our students through their early secondary years; affording them the opportunity to participate in a broad range of core subject areas whilst enveloping an inquiry based approach to their learning.
The ‘one to one’ notebook program across the Junior School is in accordance with the Melbourne Declaration, which identifies communication technology (ICT) as an essential skill for twenty-first century learners. Teaching staff actively incorporates the use of online learning platforms, interactive whiteboards and critical thinking skills into the classroom domain.
As students progress through to Year 9, the academic program explicitly differentiates the avenues through which our students learn, providing a rich choice of options via the Arts, Technology and Language elective programs.
As students’ progress through to the Senior School, they are engendered with the characteristics and lifelong dispositions that will enable them to have greater responsibility for their own learning; and an active role in considering the plethora of alternative pathways for their own future.
